IT’S HAPPENING IN HAZYVIEW

Hazyview in the Mpumalanga Province is ideally situated just a few kilometres outside the Kruger National Park and smaller Game Reserves.

Hazyview, a small farming town was named thus due to the haze that envelopes the area in the summertime. It is reputed to have the best situation and climate in the world for banana growing and the plantations are prolific in the region.

The greater attraction however is that most of Mpumalanga’s private game reserves are found just east of Hazyview.

Among many Mpumalanga towns and the panoramic countryside, all offering the traveller wide choices of tourist attractions, not least is the Shangana Cultural Village on the R535 to Graskop. Here many cultural and wild-life curios, edibles, clothing and other bric-a-brac can be bought at road-side stalls or in the village. Amongst these are renowned stops such as The Windmill Wind Shop, The Brewery and Summerfields Kitchen

Hot air ballooning has become one of many attractions in the Hazyview area over the peaceful and picturesque valley because the weather conditions are usually perfect. Spectacular views and a feeling of total freedom and peace await you up there in the air!

CONFERENCE VENUES HAZYVIEW

Conference groups have found that Hazyview, being a gateway to the Game Reserves, has great appeal because it offers an ‘in the bush’ experience ‘ in total luxury’ as well as providing the perfectly peaceful setting for the serious aspect of conferences.

Blyde River Canyon, Mpumalanga

The Blyde River Canyon Reserve extends along the Canyon’s winding path, which is constantly changing and offers more and more impressive views over sheer edges dropping many metres into the riverbed below. The Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve offers conference delegates and holiday makers or tourists crisp, uncontaminated fresh air and refreshing views of the mountains and panoramic views over the Klein Drakensberg escarpment and this is where the area name the’ Panoramic Route’ was born.

Kruger National Park

Nestled in the heart of the Lowveld is a wildlife sanctuary, a unique natural wild-life habitat to the Big-5, the magnificence and vastness of which is breath-taking. This is Kruger National Park, world-renowned as the biggest protected reserve in Africa. Offering a wide range of bush camps and up-market accommodation, the volume and variety of which is hard to find in any other single place. Situated on approximately 2 million hectares of land that stretches for 350 kilometres from north to south along the Mocambique border, Kruger National Park is reputed as being larger than Israel.
