You COULD be the winner! Good Luck!
Natal Spa or “The Spa” as it has affectionately become known over the years is set on the banks of the ever busy and beautiful Bivane River, on 550 Hectares of interesting KZN Bushveld, in the KZN HIGHLANDS, EQUI-DISTANT BETWEEN JOHANNESBURG AND DURBAN, amongst giant Cambrian granite boulders that are millions of years old.
Legend has it that the river’s warm water and bubbles were the work of a large black snake with an underground lair. While that myth may have kept the ancient San people from the healing mineral waters, it certainly didn’t have the same effect on Oom Piet Wessels, founder or original owner of the farm or the generations of visitors who have stopped over at this oasis between Vryheid and Paulpietersburg, en-route to Durban or Johannesburg, along the “Battlefields Route” of Northern KZN.
Like our Voortrekker forefather, guests soon discover there’s more to a dip in the river than meets the eye. For starters, this is not ordinary H2O. The Natal Spa is famed for its hot mineral waters. The thermal waters rise up along fault fissures and are heated at source to between 36 and 45 degrees Celsius.
These “triple waters” contain healing chlorides, sulphates and carbonates that can help treat gastric ailments, digestive disorders, billary, constipation, fibrositis, gout, rheumatism, insomnia, skin disorders such as warts and even the stresses and strains of everyday life.
Gooderson Leisure Resorts took over the resort in 2006.
At the Natal Spa, their formula is simple – take plenty of rest and relaxation and just add revitalizing mineral water.
Guests are accommodated in 60 large comfortably furnished en suite bedrooms – these include 24 Twins, 27 Family Rooms, nine luxury King Size Rooms and 23 Self Catering Units. Each room has a private bathroom and a TV. Coffee and tea making facilities and all other regular room accessories are provided.
The Natal Spa is known for its cuisine – “Farm-style” breakfasts at the dining room and terrace, light meals at The Bistro and delicious a la carte and buffet dinners. The Raptors Restaurant bar (open from 10am until late) and the Boulders Bar alongside the heated pools are perfect spots for sundowners.
Conferences at Natal Spa
Give your staff more than just a conference, give them inspiration. Break away from the norm and uplift their spirits and productivity.
To host successful, result-achieving and enjoyable conferences, events and wedding receptions, Natal Spa Hot Springs & Leisure Resort offers three well-equipped conference rooms which can accommodate collectively, between 10 & 120 delegates. A stylish and scenic boardroom is also available for smaller, intimate meetings of up to 10 delegates. These are all equipped with standard conference equipment and Audio Visual equipment is available to those who require this added state-of-the-art facility.
If ever there was the perfect spot for Team building, this is it …. Conference Organisers may import their own Team Building companies to provide water sport activities and any land based activities on the ample spaces all around the hotel and on the general property in the more rural areas such as a survivor course making use of the rocky boulder areas and the river. It’s all there for the taking!
The Spa Baths
Immerse yourself in the brilliance and clarity of the spring waters at Natal Spa Hot Springs Resort, with all its mineral and medicinal healing properties and refresh your spirit at the Natal Spa Wellness Centre.
The Wellness Centre offers a spacious sauna, plunge pool, two outdoor Jacuzzis, two steam rooms, heated 24-jet hydrotherapy bath, as well as a fully equipped gym with cardiovascular circuit, weight training and juice bar at each property. The Wellness Centre includes the Cellutology Beauty Spa that offers lavish massages and specialist beauty treatments (booking is essential).
Bird Life in abundance
Another feature at Natal Spa is the abundant birdlife, especially remembered by many for the magnificent families of Crowned Eagle who nest in the trees and hide-out amongst the boulders not far from the hotel.
Other Leisure Activities on site include: –
- Super Tube
- Quad Biking
- Mountain Biking
- Hiking Trails
- Table Tennis
- Pool Tables and Darts
Natal Spa is a perfect tourist destination en-route to the Drakensberg or Gauteng or Durban. The area is steeped in old history and many day trips may be taken from here such as a day trip to the KZN Wildlife Ithala Game Reserve and of course along the Battlefield Route for those who are interested in this history. The hotel will make up a picnic lunch for your day’s outing.
Whether for leisure, as an overnight stop, for commercial reps, a wedding or to host a conference, Natal Spa is a perfectly central point, accessible on excellent roads and a good meeting place therefore for delegates in conference travelling from both Gauteng and Durban or Richards Bay.
To enter this competition, simply answer the question below – (the answer lies in the text!)
